Meet Mrs. Boykin
I began my teaching career at Edisto Elementary, in Cordova, S.C., as a 4th grade Science and Social Studies teacher. I taught there for one year. My teaching career then continued in Hampton School District One. First, I served as the Gifted & Talented teacher for Brunson, Ben Hazel, and Fennell Elementary for half of a school year. Upon another teacher's departure, I was placed in a classroom to teach 5th grade ELA and 6th grade ELA and World History. I now currently teach 5th/6th grade ELA, 6th grade World History, and 5th grade Social Studies. This is my fourteenth year of teaching.
My first years of education were happily spent at Fennell Elementary from Pre-K through 1st grade. I attended Brunson Elementary School as a child from 2nd- 6th grade, and went on to North District Middle School. In 2002, I became a Wade Hampton High School graduate. In 2007, I graduated from the University of South Carolina Aiken with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I also obtained a Master's degree from American Intercontinental University in Curriculum & Instruction in 2009. My last degree completed in 2011 was a Master's degree in Language & Literacy from the University of South Carolina. I am a 5th grade & 6th grade ELA teacher. I am also a World History and Social Studies teacher. Additionally, I serve as a member of the leadership team, and I am the co-sponsor of the Junior Beta Club. I am looking forward to a productive school year!
