I was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina and graduated from Summerville High School in 1984. I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education from Charleston Southern University. I completed my Ed. Specialist endorsement in Math and Science education in 1998. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix online campus and hope to finish sometime in the next year. I spent 16 years in the classroom teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I served as assistant principal at Hampton Elementary, Ben Hazel Primary, and Varnville Elementary for 2 years. Brunson Elementary is an Arts in the Basic Curriculum school located in the heart of the town of Brunson. BES has been awarded the Palmetto Silver Award for the past 5 years. The Education Oversight Committee has also recognized BES as a Showcase School for the past 3 years. BES has been recognized as a Red Carpet School for offering outstanding customer service and building durable relationships with parents and the community.
